Projects & Awards
  • “Turkey's Changemakers” is a TV program that aims to promote “unique stories of extraordinary people” who contribute to the social development. Mr. Gültekin YAZGAN was chosen as a changemaker in 2009.
  • The Turkish Spelling Book (by Turkish Linguistic Institute) is produced in audio and Braille format in 2008, supported by Izmir Development Agency. The Project was granted “The Charity Award 2010” in Izmir.
  • “Disabled Solidarity for Unlimited Development” Project was sponsored by Sabancı Foundation in 2011. The Project was performed in Bergama Detention Center with 25 teenage prisoners. They were trained to produce 50 audio books to be sent to 1000 visualy impaired children. The Project was chosen “The Best NGO Project of the Year 2012” in Izmir.
  • “Good Smells From the Kitchen” was collective work with Rotary. 1000 audio and 150 Braille printed cook books, including 100 receipts specialy written for visually impaired was sent to TÜRGÖK members. The cook book “Good Smells From the Kitchen” was granted first prize in “Gourmant World Cookbook Awards Beijing 2014”. Also this book was chosen “Turkey's Changemakers” in 2015.
  • TÜRGÖK was invited to Almanal Forum in UAE/Sharjah in 2014. The Theme of the forum was “the role of children literature in increasing the society awareness about impaired people.”. Tülay YAZGAN (the chairman of Türgök executive board) was granted by a silver madal for TÜRGÖK’s contribution to the education of disabled children.
  • The aim of the “I’m Reading Books With My Child” project is to produce Braille version of the children storybooks, including the descriptions of the pictures, for the visually impaired parents who want to read books to their little children. The story books are sent in couples –Braille and normal copy- one for parent, the other one for the child. The Project was granted “The Charity Award 2015” in Izmir.
